Giesen Advanced Roasting Program

The Giesen Advanced Roasting Program is not a beginner course. It is written for professionals who already roast well, and want to roast at the level of a world champion. Three days. One machine, understood completely. Giesen professionals as well as the 2025 world coffee roasting champion Mikaël Portannier will host and share all the information you want to know!

Expenses: Giesen will provide lunch every day. Please note that the course price does not include travel and hotel expenses. 

Subjects and schedule

1. Understanding the machine
   Heat transfer, airflow, drum, burner and batch dynamics. After that, a practical session at intentionally extreme settings. As well as preventive care with Giesen service engineers.
2. Data and sensory intelligence
   Analysis, comparison and repeatability with a Giesen professional and 2025 world roasting champion Mikaël Portannier. Every roast a decision you can repeat.
3. Advanced roasting workshop
   Your chance to bring the real problems; profiles, difficult coffees, production challenges. We solve them together, live, as case studies. You leave with answers, not theory.
